It’s not often that I receive a booking for outdoor wedding photos with such a small list of attendees. We were going to have the bride, the groom, the preacher, me (photographer), a park ranger… and that was it. Well, we ended up having two park rangers in attendance, but you get the idea- this was going to be very small, and very awesome, and I had a blast photographing this couple. The photos speak for themselves.

The lake was up a few feet, spoiling our initial plans of using a campsite, but we didn’t let that stop us. The park rangers were simply awesome and lent some extra hands to make everything perfect. They were totally amazing throughout the afternoon/evening. One ranger in particular, Robert, was a fantastic guy and went incredibly above and beyond to make sure the day went as well as possible. Once Paul and Michele were hitched, we spent a couple hours taking pictures while we waited for sunset, to really get the perfect outdoor wedding photos.

Once the sun settled down, it was a rush against time, but we came away with some extremely fun and memorable photographs. Michele and Paul were troopers for sticking it out through the cold and windy weather, and I hope they cherish these photos for years to come.

Who says you need perfect spring or summer weather to get amazing outdoor wedding photos? With no leaves left on the trees, there were still plenty of magical moments to be had, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I definitely want to explore outdoor photos even more this time of year, so if you’re interested, let’s get in touch.
