Birthday Party Photographer | Shelley
I always love it when I receive requests for a birthday party photographer. Photographing events results in a fun and interesting time, but birthday parties in particular are something special; in many cases, the birthday guy or girl gets to connect with friends whom they haven’t seen in ages. For this evening, Bobby contacted me regarding his wife’s upcoming surprise birthday party. He had folks coming in from all over, including some of Shelley’s (his wife) college best friends, who she had not seen in a very long time.
The evening took place in Stem, North Carolina at a somewhat recently-launched vineyard and event space, Vino Oasi (Facebook) owned and operated by Lisa and Pierre, a couple of really great hosts. This was my first time attending the venue, and it was very impressive. Driving out to the space was very peaceful, as you pass by the rows of Bradford pear trees and the vineyard itself. The inside was beautifully decorated and I knew instantly that this was going to be a hit and a dream location for any birthday party photographer.
Everyone slowly arrived, and right on schedule, Bobby showed up with Shelley and gave her a nice surprise when they walked in the door. A bit of excitement and lots of hugs later, the venue was filled with conversation and laughter among friends new and old.
The evening’s music and atmospheric lighting was provided by DJ Karl Mohr, who did an awesome job as MC. Karl kept everyone moving with a mix of country, rock, top 40s, and even some motown, disco, and funk.
As the night progressed, Bobby and Shelley took center stage for Bobby to serenade his bride and get everyone excited for lots of dancing. Once he wrapped up, the dance space filled with nearly everyone in the room and the energy was really kicked up a few notches.
After a few hours of fun and entertainment, the evening wrapped up and I was on my way. Thanks again Bobby and Shelley for such a great time!
